📱🔥 RHEA WENT LIVE 📱🔥 - PART 2

The phone rang once.
Twice.
Three times.
Keys answered on the fourth.
“What?”
Rhea blinked.
“Hello to you too.”
“You called me.”
“What’s your problem?”
“What’s yours?”
Behind her, Shan whispered, “Hang up.”
Rhea raised one finger.
“Where are you?”
Keys went quiet.
Not suspiciously quiet.
Annoyed quiet.
There was a difference.
“With my bredrin.”
“What bredrin?”
“What you mean, what bredrin?”
“The one with a name.”
“Rhea, I’m not doing this.”
“Doing what?”
“This thing you do.”
Rhea glanced at the Live.
Viewer count: 4,816.
Thirty seconds earlier, it had been sitting below three thousand.
Her spine straightened.
“I asked you one simple question.”
“And I answered.”
“You said your bredrin. Which one?”
“Why?”
“Because I’m curious.”
“You’re never curious. You’re investigating.”
The comments loved that.
HE KNOWS HER TOO WELL
NOT INVESTIGATING
KEYS RUN
Rhea’s jaw tightened.
“Where is my daughter?”
Keys paused.
“At my mum’s.”
Shan’s face changed.
Rhea’s did too.
Because Keys had collected Amari at six that evening.
Keys had stood at her front door in a grey tracksuit and Dior trainers complaining because Amari had packed three Barbies, a colouring book and her favourite blanket into a weekend bag he called excessive. He had kissed their daughter on the forehead, told Rhea he was taking her to Nando’s and then the cinema, and had specifically said:
I haven’t had proper time with her all week.
Rhea sat straighter.
“Why is she at your mum’s?”
Keys sighed.
“Because she wanted to sleep there.”
“Since when?”
“Since tonight.”
“What time?”
“Rhea.”
“What time?”
“Why does it matter?”
“It matters because you collected my child saying you wanted to spend time with her, so now I’m asking where you went.”
“I don’t need permission to go anywhere.”
“I didn’t say you did.”
“Yes, you are.”
“Keys.”
“What?”
“Where are you?”
The silence stretched long enough for the comments to start flying too quickly for Rhea to keep up.
Then somebody typed:
TIA JUST WENT LIVE
Another:
TIA IS LIVE RIGHT NOW
Another:
RHEA GO LOOK
Shan saw them.
“Oh, fuck.”
Rhea turned her eyes slowly towards her sister.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“Shan.”
“Nothing.”
The comments answered for her.
TIA LIVE
GO TIA PAGE
RHEA DONT
SHE WEARING A MAN SHIRT
Rhea’s mouth opened.
Keys heard the silence.
“Rhea?”
She hung up.
Not because she was finished.
Because she needed both hands.
“Give me your phone.”
“No.”
“Shan.”
“No.”
“Give me the phone.”
“You’re already watching one disaster. Why do you need two?”
“Shanice.”
“Don’t government-name me in your foolishness.”
“Give me the fucking phone.”
Shan reluctantly unlocked it.
“Do not comment.”
“Why would I comment?”
“You once commented from Mum’s account pretending to be a sixty-year-old woman.”
“She deserved support.”
“You wrote, ‘Rhea baby leave dem dutty gyal alone, from Auntie Paulette.’”
“And Mum agreed afterwards.”
“She didn’t even know you’d done it.”
“Technicality.”
Rhea opened Instagram.
Tia Morgan was Live.
Seven thousand people were watching.
Rhea tapped.
Tia appeared immediately, sitting on the edge of a bed with her hair wrapped, her face fresh and an oversized white shirt hanging to mid-thigh.
She was speaking calmly.
That made Rhea hate her more.
Tia always spoke calmly whenever she wanted everybody else to look mad.
“I’m not addressing anybody,” Tia said, staring directly into the camera while very obviously addressing somebody. “I’ve had people messaging me all night and I’m honestly confused because I’m at home minding my business.”
Rhea laughed.
The sharp one.
“No. Look at this bitch.”
“Rhea.”
“No, because look.”
Tia shifted sideways.
Something glittered on the chest of drawers behind her.
Rhea froze.
Then zoomed in.
